The action by which a body recognises that a product or another body is fit to render a given service in defined conditions.

Quality assurance

All those pre-established and systematic measures implemented in the context of the Quality System in order to plan, obtain and guarantee the quality of a product, a process or a service with respect to the expressed or implied requirements of the Customer.


Range of activities aimed at certifying, via a written document signed by an independent third party, that a product, a service or an organisation attains the required level with respect to the reference measures.

Quality criterion

Transcription in a coded language (code n° + text) of a product characteristic (finished product, semi-finished, material) subject to a Quality Guarantee procedure.
