My job is to administrate and deploy FYT, which stands for Flow and Traceability I work with several departments to deploy a new system that digitizes every record of everything we do, which means that at the end of the day we know things like: what went into every tire, how often we’re changing over to another product, what our inventory is, and so much more.  

Thanks to this, operators no longer have to write everything down, our plant was able to condense several different systems to this standard one, and all this information has enabled managers to make better decisions. And this is only the beginning! The next step is to extend the system to the truckers that move products around the plant. When they scan every drop off and pickup, not only will we know where the inventory is, but it also automatically asks the trucker to bring more when a machine is low on inventory.

I am currently working in the Training Department as a mentor.  My responsibility is to assist in the training of new hires that are assigned to work on the production machines.  Over the course of several weeks I help them learn and understand the basics of tire building including our company’s expectations regarding safety and quality.  After they are assigned to a crew and an individual trainer it becomes my responsibility to help assess their progress towards the goal of certification.
