Design Engineer - Mold & External Geometry Design

MISSION

Develop curing mold templates to meet plant’s equipment, quality, safety and Industry standards and design mold components and associated tooling, based on mold templates, considering the tire geometrical definition and lead time to uphold the business continuity. Designing external geometry of the tires , based on market and compliance requirements and tooling and process constraints.

KEY EXPECTED ACHIVEMENTS

• Curing mold design parameters are determined for new mold design intended for new tire designs.
• CAD master models of curing molds are created and stored in PLM system (Windchill).
• Manufacturing drawings are generated and data is available on time for  users (e.g. mold manufacturing workshops/plants): design plans, data, bill of materials.
• Relevant research related to curing molds are conducted and new technologies are introduced to improve existing molds and new molds.
• Mold technical transferability and bridges between different curing processes are guaranteed.
• Design guidelines are established and documented for molds and continuous improvement of CAD templates generated for curing molds.
• CAD models and External geometry of the tire (Contour /Tread /Marking) are designed while meeting tire specifications (ETRTO) and considering tooling and process constraints.
• Performance of  the new tire designs estimated using analytical methods.
• Product related marketing files are available for marketing teams.
• Consultancy on resolving day-to-day technical problems related to the product & relevant tools while ensuring conformity to standards in safety, reliability, performance & quality. (changes, transferability, etc...)

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• BSc. Engineering Degree specialized in Mechanical (with Design Engineering) or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc.
• Fluent in English language, strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.
